SUFFERING WITH ALLERGIES?? Foods to Include, Avoid, and Supplements for Natural Allergy Relief

Picture

Foods to Include, Avoid, and Supplements for Natural Allergy Relief!

Spring’s beauty can be tough for allergy sufferers. Natural treatments may be as or more effective than medications, without side effects, such as fatigue and more serious ones like Alzheimer's Disease.
Pollen from grass, trees, flowers, and weeds triggers allergies, while histamine-rich foods can worsen symptoms, especially with mast cell issues.
Underlying Causes of Allergies
Conditions like asthma, stress, nasal issues, illness, pregnancy, and food allergies can increase allergy risk by weakening the immune system. A strong immune system helps fight allergies, while trauma, stress, or lack of sleep can make symptoms worse.
Foods to increase:
  • Vitamin C and beta-carotene in berries, dark greens, and fruits may help relieve hay fever symptoms with antihistamine and anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Omega-3-rich foods like oily fish, flaxseed oil, nuts, and seeds help fight allergy symptoms with their anti-inflammatory properties. *Check for nut allergies first, as they can be high in histamines. e.g. walnuts
  • Ginger and peppermint can also have an antihistamine effect.
  • Garlic, onions, kale, and broccoli are high in quercetin, an anti-inflammatory that reduces allergy symptoms and boosts immune function. *Also found in blue-green algae, spirulina, chlorella, and kelp.
  • Bromelain in pineapple has anti-inflammatory boosting properties.  .
  • Bone broth, probiotic-rich foods
  • Grass-fed beef, wild caught fish, free-range poultry (growth hormone/antibiotic free)
  • Hot and spicy foods, fresh fruits and veggies
Foods to avoid:
  • Wheat, cow dairy (contains A1 casein - inflammatory), soy
  • Alcohol, caffeine/chocolate (histamine liberators)
  • Peanuts, Sunflower seeds
  • Sugar, artificial sweeteners, processed foods
  • Melons, bananas, cucumbers, echinacea, chamomile and bottled citrus juice, dried fruits (high in histamines and molds from ragweed family.
  • If you have a ragweed allergy, avoid melons, bananas, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, echinacea, and chamomile. They can trigger reactions. Limiting sensitive foods helps reduce strain on your immune system for better function.
